However, this year I am determined to some things just for ME!  I’m only do one project,  Project Life that you can purchase through Amazon.  You can read more about it here.

I’m also going to take the time to read.  I have always enjoyed reading and just finished The Hunger Games trilogy on my Kindle Fire.  I can’t wait until the movie comes out!

And EEK I can’t believe I’m writing this out here, I’m going to attempt a half marathon.   That will be the one resolution, that if I can keep it, will top my 2012!

As for my photography business, that has steadily continued to grow the last few years.  I’m excited to see what 2012 brings!

Meet Brady!

An 8 week old Brindle Boxer born on July 24th

You may have noticed the change in branding as well.  Blues/Greens (and any shade thereof) are my favorite colors and I’ve been inspired by Justin & Mary’s site for years now.  Looking in my closet and the things I own, I’ve found a shade that I gravitate towards often that I can call my own.

Our church, Genesis Metro Church, is heavily involved in a mission in the country of Honduras.  Several mission teams have been traveling down each year to assist in building Promise Home Orphanage.

My husband, Shawn Starrett, was able to go last year and would like to return this summer.

Here’s a little more about the mission from my husband:

Promise Home Orphanage (PH) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) Christian organization that has set out to build a self sustaining orphanage just outside of El Progreso, Honduras. Once completed PH will be home to 200 abused, abandoned, and neglected children. The children will be raised in a loving, Christian home and will receive a high school level education at an on-site school. PH will be self sustaining by operating an agriculture and fish program in which the produce will be sold into local markets. While in Honduras, we will stay at a local home serving as our base for the week. Each day we will go to a local village and use different forms of outreach to connect with the community. Through this, we will have the opportunity to impact the lives of hundreds of children and adults. Additionally, we will also go into the villages to distribute rice and beans as a way of showing our support for the community and looking for opportunities to share Christ’s love. We will also spend a couple days at PH working on various construction projects as they prepare to receive abused and abandoned children.  Honduras is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere and lacks the funds to help the children in need. With our help PH will be built and begin helping children who have no hope or future. The true purpose of this trip is to meet the community’s physical and spiritual needs by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through outreach, sports camps, construction and evangelism teams we will be sharing the love of Christ.

The reason for my letter is that I would ask two things from you. First and foremost I need your prayers. It’s through the power of prayer that my trip will be safe and successful. In addition to prayers, I am asking those that are able to support my trip financially. The cost of the trip is $1475.

Also, the session fees from any sessions booked between now and June 1, 2011 be donated to his mission trip.

From there, I attended the Miabella Workshop, hosted by Leah Profancik, in May and met some wonderful ladies from around the country.  Then, in June, I attended Bloom Face2Face.  From there I became a moderator over on the The Bloom Forum.  I am so honored to be a part of Bloom.  Who wouldn’t want to be a Bloomie, right?

In October I went on a retreat with some amazing ladies from 4 The Love of Focus and I don’t think I’d had that much fun in years!  In January, I’ll be meeting some other girls from “Focus” at a photography convention.  I can’t wait.  In February I will be assisting with the Bloom Face2Face workshop.  Again, what an honor!  I can’t wait to meet all the attendees!

This year I also found my passion in photography, which is High School Seniors.  I just love that age of an ending of one chapter in life and the beginning of another.
